Here is a link to a church website that is accepting Paypal electronic gifts
for their "Contributions":
www.foxmeadowchurch.com
The cost to do this is 2.9% per transaction received for $5000
a month or less.
Before you can do this, you have to
set
up a business account with Paypal.
In the case of
www.foxmeadowchurch.org they first set up an email address they used to
receive contributions (
contributions@foxmeadowchurch.com) Once you set up your
contributions email, you can receive "script" from off the Merchant Tools
page on your site. If questions, write:
customercare@paypal.com
Once you have your account and email setup, to create a Donation button
for your website, please follow these instructions:
1. Log in to account at
https://www.paypal.com/
by entering your email address and password in the Member Log In box
2. Click the 'Merchant Tools' tab.
3. Click 'Donations', one of the Key Features under PayPal Website
Payments Standard.
4. Complete the form with the details of your item and select the
'Donation' button you wish to use. For assistance with this process, click
'More Resources' in the upper right corner of this page.
5. In the 'Currency' drop down box, select the type of currency you would
like to receive your payments in.
6. Choose 'Yes' to encrypt your payment button, or choose 'No' if you
would like to leave it as is. Encrypting the button code limits the
options you are able to add to your button Option fields and other
dynamically-generated options from the 'Add More Options' page will be
unavailable. You will be unable to change the button's HTML code after
it has been encrypted. You will not have the option for an email link
7. If you need to specify additional details, click 'Add More Options'
and fill out the appropriate fields, otherwise click 'Create Button Now'.
8. If you selected 'Add More Options', click 'Create Button Now'.
9. Copy and paste the HTML code into your website. If you want to save
the code to use later, copy it into a text file.
10. Click 'Done' if you are finished creating buttons, or 'Create Another
Button' if you want to make additional buttons.
Note: If you have your own website with Donation Buttons, you should
update your HTML code to reflect any new and confirmed email address for all
of your items. Not doing so may result in lost payments or sales. Until you
get all of your buttons updated, we suggest that you leave the old email
address on your PayPal account so you will continue to receive payments and
orders.
