A number of caring people have asked us if we would have any special financial needs that they could send a gift to help meet.

We have talked with our insurance company and other people who have gone through breast cancer.  From these discussions, we have learned that there will be thousands of dollars that will NOT be covered by our medical health insurance plan because of co-pays, deductibles, insurance rules for normal and customary charges, out-of-pocket charges, uncovered items, etc.

A group of people have opened up a charitable gift benevolence account with a nationally recognized IRS approved Christian organization for anyone who would like to help provide tax-deductible gifts to be of help.  All gifts will be given a tax deductible receipt by Helping Hands Ministries. 

As of March 30th (four months into the nine months of Sandi's cancer treatments), there have been more than $55,000 in bills.  Health insurance has covered many of these bills but our out-of-pocket costs have come to nearly $6000 (so far) - - and we anticipate another $5,000 or more of out-of-pocket charges in the coming months..

We are thankful for the generous gifts that have already sent into the Helping Hands benevolence fund.  So far, we have received the following generous gifts from caring individuals: $25 (1), $50 (1), $100 (1), $300 (1), $400 (1), $500 (2) and $1000 (4).
